Rewriting My Journey: A Fresh Start with IMNS.co

Over the years, I’ve done a lot as a programmer: solving problems, building tools, and figuring out how to improve things. But one thing I’ve always struggled with is writing. It doesn’t come naturally to me, but I’ve decided it’s time to change that. This new IMNS.co website is where I can share what I’m working on, document my progress, and connect with others who are into programming.

The Struggle with Writing is real

Writing has always been a challenge for me. Programming? No problem. But putting thoughts into words that flow well? That’s another story. I write straight to the point, often skipping the nuance or personality that makes for engaging content.

This blog is my way of pushing past that. It’s a space where I can experiment, practice, and hopefully improve. I want to share more than just code; I want to share ideas and lessons I’ve learned, even if it’s not perfectly polished.

Leveraging Tools to Improve

I’m not ashamed to admit I use tools to help me write better. I lean on ChatGPT to create outlines and organize my thoughts, and then I use Grammarly Pro to clean up the grammar and ensure everything reads smoothly. These tools are like a safety net, letting me focus on what I want to say without worrying too much about how to say it.

We all have areas where we’re not naturally skilled, and that’s okay. For me, writing is one of those areas. But instead of avoiding it, I’m using the resources available to improve. If anything, learning to write better feels like just another kind of problem-solving, which is something I’ve always enjoyed.

Open Source Aspirations

Another big part of this site is documenting my work in open source. I’ve set a goal to create and contribute to a few open-source projects each year. It’s my way of giving back to the programming community that has taught me so much.

Every project I work on will have a page in the Projects section of this site. These pages will include a description of the project and links to related blog posts. I want to show the finished product and the journey of what worked, what didn’t, and what I learned along the way.

Building in Public

This blog is also about building in public. I want to share my process, not just the results. That means being open about the struggles, mistakes, and unexpected detours. By being transparent, I can relate to others tackling their own challenges, whether in writing, programming, or something entirely different.

Writing more isn’t easy for me, but it feels like the right move. Each post is a chance to get better at explaining my ideas and connecting with others. And maybe, by sharing my journey, I’ll encourage someone else to take on a challenge they’ve been putting off.

The Bigger Picture

At the end of the day, this blog is about growth. It’s a way to document what I’m learning, share what I’ve built, and build a community around shared interests and goals. I’m not aiming for perfect posts or polished projects, just progress.

This new website is a fresh start for IMNS, and I look forward to seeing where it takes me.
